Like visitors arriving in Argentia soon realize that the Avalon is a great place to explore, visitors to this website will find a wealth of information on this region. Avalon Gateway Region and Zone 18 are terms that can be used interchangeably. This region is made up of 24 communities on the Southwest Avalon Peninsula. Included are areas such as the Salmonier Line in St. Mary’s Bay, the Cape Shore and the Placentia Area of Newfoundland. This website is the Regional Economic Development Board (RED Board) website for Zone 18 and is devoted to providing information on Economic Development, Tourism, Community Projects and Contacts.
