About Us



The Avalon Gateway Regional Economic Development Inc., also known as the RED Board, is responsible for promoting the development of Economic Zone 18, one of twenty such zones in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our office is located at 61 Blockhouse Road, which is in the Placentia Mall across from Service Canada. The office hours are 8:30 - 4:00 Monday through Friday.

Avalon Gateway covers the Cape Shore, Placentia area and the area from Long Harbour to Admirals Beach including Markland and the Salmonier Line. The following communities are included:

The association is made up of an eleven person Board of Directors representing: Regional Development Associations (2), Municipalities (3), Tourism & Culture (1), Human Resource Development (1), Natural Resource Development (1), Chamber of Commerce (1), Business Development (1) and Education (1).

 

The association fulfills these functions with leadership supplied by a Board of Directors that employ a staff, led by an Executive Director, to administer the work of the Board.
